On March 16th, the BRYT National Convening was held focusing on topics of school and district leadership and how to promote mental health equity, an especially critical topic at this time. The keynote speaker was Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D., world-renowned teacher, clinician, and researcher on brain development and children’s trauma. Over 800 people attended the convening, including over 400 school principals, state legislators and policy makers. The convening was help in conjunction with the release of the BRYT’s report, with specific recommendations for school teachers, also titled This is the Time to Lead with Mental Health and Equity in mind.
