In November 2013, the Caucus for US-Israel Relations in the 19th Knesset met. The Caucus, which is comprised of Knesset members from the entire political spectrum, was founded in 2012 by then MK Ronit Tirosh, an alumna of the Foundation’s first Knesset Mission, and relaunched in 2013 by MK Nachman Shai. The discussion dealt with the tremendous importance of US-Israel relations in the context of the discourse and partnership between American Jewish denominations and the State of Israel. Knesset members and heads of organizations took part. Among the speakers were Foundation President Jay Ruderman, Rabbi David Stav, Chairman of the Tzohar rabbinical organization, and Rabbi Rick Jacobs, President of the Union for Reform Judaism, which represents about a third of American Jewry.
