Journalist Mission, 2013

The Ruderman Journalist Mission in July, 2013 included senior journalists from various Israeli media outlets. During the study tour, the reporters and media personalities learned about the role and function of American Jewry in relations between the two countries.

The media personalities who took part in the study tour were Yair Ettinger, Nurit Canetti, Elon Gold, Hilik Sharir and Nadav Eyal.

Noteworthy components of the mission were a panel discussion on contemporary Jewish denominations in the United States, meetings with heads of Jewish organizations from different fields, a survey of American Jewry from a research perspective by leading academics, a conversation with leading journalists about the coverage of Israel and the Jewish community in the American media, meetings with members of Congress and political activists from the Democratic and Republican parties, a dialogue with Jewish students and a conversation with the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Ron Prosor.

 

Journalist Mission, 2015

The Ruderman Journalist Mission in June, 2015, included eight senior journalists from various Israeli media outlets. During the study tour, the reporters and media personalities learned about the role and function of American Jewry in relations between the two countries.

The delegation included Razi Barkai (Army Radio), Danny Kushmaro (Channel 2 News), Hila Korach (Channel 10), Benny Teitelbaum (Kol Yisrael), Israel Twito (Channel 10), Meir Abergil (Yedioth Ahronoth), Liron Nagler-Cohen (YNet) and Zvika Klein (Makor Rishon).

Some noteworthy components of the mission were a panel discussion on contemporary Jewish denominations in the United States, a dinner with heads of Jewish organizations from many different fields, a conversation with leading journalists about the coverage of Israel and the Jewish community in the American media, meetings with members of Congress and political activists from the Democratic and Republican parties, a dialogue with Jewish students and a historical tour focusing on Jewish immigration to New York.

Journalist Mission, 2018

The Ruderman Journalist Mission in 2018 included nine senior journalists representing a wide range of society and media outlets: Ayala Hasson (Channel 10 News); Yael Dan (Army Radio); Maya Ziv-Wolf (Reshet 13); Aryeh Golan (Kan Bet); Jacob Eilon (Walla! News); Itamar Eichner (Yedioth Ahronoth); Snir Biderman (Kastina Communications) and Yakov Grodka (Behadrei Haredim).

The mission lasted five days (November 4 – 8). During that time, the participants visited New York and Boston, learned about American Jewry in the past and present, and heard about issues related to the future of the American Jewish community.

Some noteworthy components of the mission were a panel discussion on contemporary Jewish denominations in the United States, a dinner with heads of Jewish organizations from many different fields, a conversation with leading journalists about the coverage of Israel and the Jewish community in the American media, meetings with members of Congress and political activists from the Democratic and Republican parties, conversations with the Israeli ambassador to the UN and the Israeli consul in New York, a breakfast with a former governor of Massachusetts, a dialogue with Jewish students from several campuses, and a historical tour focusing on Jewish immigration to New York.
