Shirly Pinto

Shirly is an alumnus of LEAD20 Leadership program and a long time deaf sign language speaker activist. As a Project Officer at the IDF Air Force, Shirly was recognized as an outstanding soldier by the Israeli Air Force commander and by the late Israeli President, Shimon Peres. As a law student, She interned at ‘Pirat, Wilensky, Mizrachi, Knaani’ law firm, where she mastered the field of labor law and human rights. After receiving her degree, Shirly led the ‘Shema’ Association in Tel Aviv as director and founded the Israeli Center for Deaf Studies. Shirly is also a lecturer at Bar-Ilan University in the course for training sign language interpreters. She lives in Ramat Gan and is married to Michael Kadosh, a deaf American who immigrated to Israel.
